Where to park in Beacon, NY

There are 12 free public parking lots in close proximity to Main Street, Beacon, NY.

One of the best things about Beacon is it’s easily walkable—something not many small American cities can claim. It’s certainly one reason so many visitors come here via Metro North and make the short trip from the train station to Main Street on foot or by the free Loop bus. However, if you do drive to Beacon, the good news is it’s not too challenging to find parking here, if you are willing to be flexible on your exact parking spot.

The even better news is you don’t have to parallel park on the streets! That’s because, aside from parking on Main Street, there are 12 free public lots evenly dispersed throughout the Downtown District, which makes getting a spot close to your destination a cinch. So, whether you take the train or drive, there’s no excuse not to visit Beacon, shop its incredible stores, eat in its excellent restaurants, and enjoy its vibrant arts scene!

To help you find Beacon’s public parking lots, we’ve compiled a list of them and their locations, from the west to the east sides of town:

Municipal Lot: Located outside City Hall between Wolcott Avenue (Rte 9D) and Beekman Street (Approximately 38 spots along the front and side lot; two EV charging ports in the lower-level portion of the lot, off Beekman St.

There’s 46 public parking spots beside Beacon’s new firehouse.

Wolcott Avenue Lot: Located beside the new firehouse and across from City Hall (46 public spots, including three generally available EV charging ports and one accessible parking charging port

Cross Lot: Located on Cross Street just north of Main Street (18 spots, including two EV charging ports)

Cliff Lot: Located on the corner of Main and Cliff Streets (19 spots)

Beacon Center Lot: Located on the corner of Main and South Elm Streets (92 spots), including two EV spots.

Digger Phelps Lot: Located across Main Street from the Beacon Center Lot (13 spots)

Eliza Lot: Located behind the Rite Aid between North Chestnut and Eliza Streets (90 spots)

Chestnut Lot: Located on Henry Street between South Chestnut Street and Veterans Place (65 spots)

Teller Lot: Located on Henry Street between Veterans Place and Teller Avenue. Look for the Yankee Clipper Diner sign. (70 spots)

Van Nydeck Lot: Located behind Brothers Trattoria on Van Nydeck Avenue between Teller and Tioronda Avenues (56 spots, including two EV charging ports)

45 spots available at Churchill Lot, near Hudson Valley Brewery.

Churchill Lot: Located off Churchill Street beside Hudson Valley Brewery (45 spots)

Verplanck Lot: Located at the corner of Main Street and Verplanck Avenue (26 spots)
