Three of Beacon Cheese Shop’s cheesemongers are heading to New York City this June to compete in the Cheesemonger Invitational — the Olympics of the cheese world — and they’d like to send them off in style.
Join the team for a one-of-a-kind evening as Ronan, Kaspar, and Jacob compete in a live mock competition in the shop. Watch them go head-to-head in the same challenges they’ll face at the Invitational — then eat their work.
Here’s what’s happening:
The Perfect Bite — Each monger creates identical, handcrafted bites pairing an artisan cheese with accompaniments of their choosing. You taste all three and pick your favorite.
The Cutting Contest — Who can cut the most precise ¼ lb wedges against the clock? Spoiler: it’s harder than it looks.
The Wrapping Contest — Speed, technique, and clean folds. Live. Under pressure.
The $50 ticket includes:
- Tastings of all three competitors’ Perfect Bites
- Additional cheese snacks throughout the evening
- Wine, beer & non-alcoholic drinks — all included
- A take-home bag of cheese and swag
All profits go directly to cover their housing in New York City during competition week — so they can focus entirely on bringing home a win for the Hudson Valley.
